Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and The Bookish in 2010 and was moved to Artsy Reader Girl in 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Each week a new topic is chosen, this week’s is: Favourite Bookmarks.
Ooh, this week was such a fun topic! While we ADORE reading from Kindles, nothing is quite as good as feeling the book’s pages while you read. It’s a completely different reading experience. That said, we’re NOT fans of dog-earing so bookmarks are one of our favourite indulgences!
Below we have listed our 5 favourite types of bookmarks along with our 5 favourite bookmark stores. What’s the point in salivating over them without the means to impulsively online shop?!
Here they are:
BOOK BOOK OWL
We absolute ADORE all of Jen’s (from Book Book Owl ) bookmarks and can never resist buying our faves (Etsy Store). Seriously, if you haven’t been to her store you’re missing out! There’s a bookmark to suit everyone and they’re absolutely stunning. It’s our fav bookmark store hands down. How could you ever resist??!!
These metal clip bookmarks are not only stunningly geometric but they’re so durable! This is a bookmark that will last you a long time and continue to look great. Our fav is the Sun Rising (middle) which has a cute deco theme. For other designs see Mizyan Etsy Store.
BEYOND THE PAGES
How cute are these?! They’re magnetic bookmarks, so they’ll never fall out! Which is great because we all know the frustration of a bookmark falling out accidentally… and then all of the spoilers you inadvertently find out when you’re trying to find the page again! Beyond the Pages Etsy store has an extensive collection of bookmarks to match any reader with characters from fantasy, sci-fi, literary fiction etc.
ELITE READER BOOKMARKS
These metallic edged bookmarks are not only pretty but super practical. We love their high quality, tassels and stunning graphics. The peacock one is our absolute fav!! You can buy them at the Elite Reader Bookmark Etsy store.
THE SIMPLE POST-IT
Quite often we forget to bring along bookmarks and find ourselves substituting with post-it notes. Not only are they colourful but they can be super cute when you get creative! Technically you can buy these anywhere, so instead of a store we’re sharing a YouTuber Origami Tree who taught us how to make these super cute cats!
