We’re very excited to share with you a recent interview we were lucky enough to have with author Mary E. Twomey. You may have seen our ARC reviews for the Territorial Mates Series (Vengeful Prince, Wicked Prince and Malicious Prince). We adored reading the sweet, slow-burn paranormal reverse harem romance series and are excited to give her back reads a try!
We love spotlighting authors that we feel are under-appreciated in the book blogging community, or simply authors we love and think you may not have heard of. We hope you enjoy the interview!

What does a typical day of writing look like for you?
I write Monday-Friday from around 9am-3pm, and then usually get some admin stuff done in the evening, if I’m very lucky.
Have you always wanted to be an author, specifically a paranormal and contemporary romance author, and would you ever consider writing outside of the genre?
I consider myself a paranormal author who *tries* to write contemporary romance. I’m still learning. One day, I’d like to try mysteries, but really, I’m content with my vampires.
The Territorial Mates series, published this year, is a slow-burn reverse harem paranormal romance that focuses on bringing peace between the enemy races of vampires, fae and shifters. What inspired you to write this story?
I love a good reverse harem story, but I love them even more when there’s a reason that’s bigger than attraction for them to be together. Uniting three warring territories seemed appropriate, given the tumultuous political climate of today.
You also write romance novels under the name Tuesday Embers. What has been your favourite contemporary romance book to write?
I had a lot of fun writing the O’Keefe Family Collection, which starts with “Exploding”. I love a good mafia romance, even more so when I get to travel to Italy to research the setting. That was a fantastic trip.
Of all your books published, which one holds a special place in your heart and why?
Gosh, I’ll narrow it to 2 series. The Vemreaux trilogy still holds a place in my heart because it’s pretty much my blood and guts over every page. Very personal to me.
The Terraway series is the other I’ve never been able to shake. That series took twists and turns that ripped my heart out. I’m still not over it.
Do you read often? What book have you enjoyed reading the most in 2019, so far?
I do read, but my answer’s probably going to be disappointing. I read mostly nonfiction. I read a little Confucius in the morning, and then on the weekends I enjoy anthropological commentary. I’m ready Simon’s Sinek’s book on game theory now. Yum.
What do you like to do with your spare time when you’re not reading or writing?
I’m a mom of three littles, so “spare time” is usually spent with my wild ruffians. I’m reading Harry Potter to them for the first time, and it’s a total treat for me.
