Top 5 Sat: Books with SCARY Covers

Hi all!

Welcome to another Top 5 Saturday Reads meme. It was created by the lovely Mandy over at Devouring Books as a way to share books that we would love to read.

This week’s topic is: Scariest Book Covers. I’m just going to admit that I don’t read horror or watch horror. I’m proud to admit that I’m a complete and utter wimp at heart! The scariest thing I could honestly think of for this week’s topic was: CLOWNS. They freaking terrify me.

I have not, nor will I ever, read these books. But suffice to say – they’re the scariest covers I could imagine! Give me gore any day over these creepily made-up faces!

// have you read any of these books? do you also hate clowns? //

    1. I haven’t ever read/seen ‘It’ and I’m pretty sure I never will 😛 You’re so lucky that they don’t scare you! I’m sure you would have enjoyed circuses a lot more as a kid than I did!

  1. I used to be absolutely terrified of clowns. I had an experience that changed that fear. I hurt somebody’s feelings for being afraid of them. Anyways, I’m ashamed I only know of one of these books. I’ll have to check the rest of them out.

    1. You know… in all my years of being scared of them I’ve never considered how it might affect them. That’s so ignorant of me! Majority of them (the non-evil ones) must genuinely worry about how people see them because of the stigma. Thanks for opening my eyes to that! I hope you enjoy some of these if you read them 🙂

    1. I’m sorrrrryyyyyy… they absolutely freak me out too! It seemed so fitting for the post but I had nightmares last night so it probably wasn’t a great idea for me to post this haha 😛

  2. God yes, clowns are the worst! I can’t imagine a time when kids actually thought they were anything other than nightmare incarnates. I like all the covers on your list, but my favorite is the one for ‘The Pilo Traveling Show.’ :O
