Hi all!
Welcome to the first of (hopefully many) Top 5 Saturday Reads. We absolutely love doing memes on Nen and Jen and couldn’t be more excited to include the Top 5 Saturday meme this week. It was created by the lovely Mandy over at Devouring Books. This week’s topic is: Summer Reads. We’ve amended this slightly to include only books that we think are fitting for summer BEACH DAY reads. As Aussie gals, we love a good read on/by the beach and can’t wait to share our picks with you!
Here they are:
WATER IS THE THEME

This was such a sweet, romantic read. It’s absolutely perfect for a chill day on the dunes. A failing bistro, an unorganised chef…this has all the hallmarks of a Ramsay’s Hotel Hell. It’s up to savvy businesswoman, Olivia to secure the safety of the bistro and catch a chef’s heart along the way. A charming story of love, good food and the pursuit of making others love good food.
ROMANCE IS IN THE OCEAN AIR

A Byron-Bay opposites-attract romance featuring a sexy, playboy surfer and wealthy actress. When Parker and Alexia reconnect the sparks fly in an off-the-charts sweet and steamy novella read. This is the perfect summer beach read that not only showcases believable characters but the quintessential Aussie lifestyle.
The Playboy is currently FREE on a promotional sale on Amazon. If you’ve been unsure about giving this a try, this is the perfect opportunity. You genuinely cannot go wrong with a free read! Especially with this author. Enjoy!
HOT AS THE SUN’S RAYS

This was such a heart-warming story filled with witty banter, clown costumes and off the charts chemistry. Bailey delivered a steamy romance that brought to light the importance of loving oneself and finding confidence in the face of adversity. The imperfect nature of the characters’ and their families in Fix Her Up shines through to create a story that’s not only entertaining but highly relatable.
SALTY AS THE CRASHING WAVES

Top Secret was the perfect blend of snarky humour, weird nerdy quirks and an obsession with lobster shorts. What’s not to love? This book follows LobsterShorts and SinnerThree as they meet on a dating app – for benefits. What starts out as sexy, explicit chats that begin to explore their physical desires soon turns in to so much more. A delightfully snarky, enemies to lovers romance perfect for fans of the MM genre.
SWEET AS ICE-CREAM

If my squeals of delight and joy while reading this book were any indication, then it’s safe to say I loved it! The Bride Test was a refreshingly honest and quirky read – quite a feat to manage in a genre that’s not always known for unique characters and story lines. While some aspects of this book are well-known tropes – arranged marriage as well as the haters to lover’s trope – this story featured unconventional, diverse characters with an unusual dynamic between them. This is perfect for fans of the Kiss Quotient!

// do you enjoy reading on/by the beach? have you read any of the books on our list? //
I haven’t read them yet! But two of them are in my TBR pile ☺️

I’m so not a beach person at all. But then in Ireland beaches tend to be cold and damp lol!!! 😂😂😂

HAHA I can definitely see why you don’t enjoy them as much 😛 I don’t think I’d like them much either if it was like that! It’s almost always warm here so chilling on a bench near the beach with a good book is one of my favs ❤

So glad to have you guys join us! I have had so much fun in this series and love when people join in! Both Fix Her Up and The Bride Test are on my TBR, but The Bride Test looks more entertaining to me. I am going to have to check out the review! I hope that you keep joining in! We will be talking about upcoming topics for Fall next week probably. They will probably be Halloween/spooky themed!
